One platform, four ways to connect

Meet patients and care partners where they are.

Keep familiar communication channels. Bring their management into a more connected workflow.

SMS

Keep patients informed.

Send appointment reminders, schedule changes, medication pickup notices, and care-plan check-ins. Route incoming patient replies to the right team within your approved workflow.

MMS

Add context to the conversation.

Share approved visit-preparation visuals, intake photos, and follow-up images when plain text cannot provide enough context for a patient or care team.

Fax

Connect document workflows.

Coordinate referral packets, signed forms, records requests, and care-transition documents with clinics and other partners through an approved fax workflow.

Calls

Make room for a conversation.

Handle complex questions, post-visit follow-up, scheduling assistance, and time-sensitive care coordination by voice when a message is not enough.

Less chasing. More coordination.

Make every next step
easier to manage.

Keep patients informed between visits

Send reminders, schedule updates, and follow-up instructions that help patients understand what to do next—before and after their appointment.

Connect communication to the work you already do

Connect messaging to your scheduling and care-coordination systems. We help plan the integrations around your team’s existing process.

Get hands-on help from setup to launch

We work with your team to configure the channels, staff access, and workflows you need, then help test them before you go live.

How it comes together

Keep a referral moving.

An example of how your team can use Pinnacle to coordinate a specialist referral—from the first message to the follow-up call.

  1. SMS / MMS

Help the patient take the next step

Send a scheduling reminder or visit-preparation instructions. Give the patient a way to reply with questions.

  2. Fax

Get the paperwork to the care partner

Send the referral packet and supporting documents to the specialist’s office through your approved fax workflow.

  3. Calls

    Follow through with a conversation

Call to answer scheduling questions, clarify instructions, or help the patient understand what happens next.

An agreed setup before you launch.

We work with your team to define the communication workflow, review BAA responsibilities, and test the setup before patient information is sent.

Discuss your implementation

For your evaluation

Clear answers before you begin.

Key considerations for clinical, operations, and compliance leaders.

What does the BAA cover?

The Business Associate Agreement (BAA) sets out the permitted use of protected health information (PHI) and each party’s responsibilities. We review your use case and covered services with you before PHI enters the dedicated environment. Standard Pinnacle accounts are not covered by this setup.

Which communication channels are available?

SMS, MMS, fax, and calls are available for approved workflows in the dedicated HIPAA environment under a signed BAA. We confirm your channel needs and setup during onboarding. RCS is not HIPAA compliant yet.

What does white-glove onboarding include?

For a limited time, white-glove setup, buildout, and launch are free. Our team plans and builds your healthcare communication workflows, configures your dedicated environment, connects your systems, and tests the setup with you. We agree on implementation scope during the initial review.

Does Pinnacle make our organization HIPAA compliant?

Your organization remains responsible for its HIPAA obligations, including patient permissions, staff access, internal policies, and the information it chooses to send. We review the BAA and shared responsibilities with you during setup.

Are SMS and MMS end-to-end encrypted?

No. Carrier SMS and MMS are not end-to-end encrypted. Your team should account for that when deciding which information to include in a message and which channel is appropriate.
